Fantastic Home Learning Projects

Check out these photos of Kaila's and Noah's Home Learning projects. They each spent hours creating wonderful models of a playground they would like us to have at  our school. Both models had excellent detail and great activities.

Super effort Kaila and Noah - you are both very creative and talented designers!

Mufti Day at PCS

On Friday 6 April our school held a special Mufti Day. Each student brought in a gold coin donation to help our Year 6 students fundraise for their Year 6 Camp in November.

Check out the good-looking girls and boys from Room 24 in their mufti.
Wow! The Room 24 girls looked awesome!

Well done boys - you look very cool!

Shivangi - Our Super Swimmer

Shivangi is an excellent swimmer and represented Papatoetoe Central School at the Papatoetoe Schools' Swimming Zones earlier this term.

She did wonderfully well and finished in third place in the 8 year old girls backstroke final.

Well done Shivangi - everyone in Room 24 is very proud of you.

Maybe one day we will see you swimming for New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games.

Our Class Motto.

Our class motto is:

"Attitude is a little thing that makes a BIG difference"

It proudly sits on the wall at the front of Room 24.
With a great attitude we can achieve anything so this motto is really important to us.

Term 1 Art - Self Portraits

This term the Piwakawaka Team have been doing an exciting art project.

We have been creating self portraits in the style of the famous artist Romero Britto.

Have a look at Room 24's self portraits - they are VERY impressive and we are all very proud of them.

Feel free to leave a message about what you think of our Room 24 artists........

Here's what they all look like together on the wall.

Meet Virath - Room 24's Student Councillor

Namaste.

My name is Virath and I am the student councillor for Room 24.
I have been a student councillor for 2 years. It is exciting, hard and difficult.
I have to stand up in front of bigger crowds and talk. Councillors talk about stuff including what we can do in the future.
We give good advice and to do this you have to be sensible and responsible.

Home Learning Projects

The Piwakawaka (Year 4) students have been very busy completing a range of Home Learning tasks during Term 1. Each student has to complete 3 projects from a range of 10 suggested tasks.

Each project is related to our theme of "Belonging" and range from ANZAC Day and Family Tree projects through to designing a new school playground and creating a brochure for a community group.

These 3 projects must be completed by the end of Term 1. The Year 4 teachers cannot wait to see how creative our awesome students are!

Check out these very impressive projects that have been completed by Room 24 students.
Wow! A great ANZAC Remembrance Poster created by Shivangi.

How good is Noah's Family Tree?
